Southward Bound!

It all seems to have come together nicely over the last couple of days. We found someone who wanted to watch the puppy until we get back, in the event the owner calls, or just adopt him should too much time elapse. Jenn and I are both sad that we are unable to keep him, but he would be a big expense as well as a lot of time and energy.

Ryan is all situated with where he will stay here in NC while awaiting for his former boss to call about his going back to work at the gas station. Whether he works while I am gone or not, I am sure he will have fun. Why not? He will be spending the week with his best friend and his family.

Jenn is going back to VA with Lisa and Steve later today after their visit with Grandma and Grandpa. She will be spending time with them until sometime after the first of the year. She wants to meet up with her brother Ted while she is there and they are all planning a trip in to Washington, DC to do some site seeing. Sounds like fun to me!

I'm packed and ready to go, will head into work shortly until 4 pm, and then I'll stop by here for anything I may have forgotten before heading west on the first leg of our trip south. All we'll have to do in the morning is load up the van and head south to GA to see "Mr.D" children. It's going to be a great visit I can just feel it!

Whooshing away now ... :)

Update: Memory Foam Mattress Contest

It's finally completed! Here are all 10 winners of the Memory Foam Mattress and Foundation being awarded to the 10 best videos for the Bedinabox.com video commercial contest!

Though we didn't make the cut, we hope you enjoyed our attempt to entertain as well as inform you about a product well worth looking into for use by anyone. I'd be dishonest if I said I was not disappointed that we didn't win, but we had a great time putting this video together. At least we appear to be second in number of views at 446, not bad!

You are welcome to view our entire entry here: Remembering With Memory Foam Mattress

Or simply enjoy our video entry here:

To view a list of all of the winners check out my post on Adventures in a Lifetime

PS Thank you "Mr.D," for all of your tireless and diligent efforts in playwright, direction, and production in a collaborated effort to enlighten, inform, and entertain our reading public! ;)

Visitors Arrived Last Night, Safe & Sound

My oldest daughter and her hubby are here for a visit this weekend. They arrived here late last night, just shortly after midnight, and will stay until tomorrow sometime. It's nice to get to see them as they live in Virginia and we don't get up there that often. So today, Lisa, Steve, Ryan and Jenn all went out shopping for clothes, while I was at work for the day. Tonight Ryan is at a birthday party for a friend, and the rest of us will eat chili and cornbread as we watch a movie. What movie? Not sure yet as Lisa and Jenn are in town picking one up while I cook and Steve plays video racing games on the television. Maybe we'll have breakfast together tomorrow, wait ... we will but where is the better question?!

A Play on Words Video

What do remembering things on a day-to-day basis and a memory foam mattress have in common? Check out this video assignment to see what I mean:

"Remembering With Memory Foam Mattress"

Thanks to Ryan, Jennifer, and "Mr.D" for all of your help in making this video possible, without you it would have been much more difficult a task.

Hope you all enjoy!

A Nice Thanksgiving for All

Today we all gathered at my parents home for an afternoon meal as a family. Though some arrived early and stayed until after the meal, and some came only to eat a desert, everyone made an appearance throughout the day. It was great to see all of my brothers again, and it's an added blessing to know that we will be seeing my oldest brother more often. He has moved back to be nearer to us all and will be living with Mom & Dad temporarily until he has a place of his own. He has already found a job and will begin teaching English grammar to young Marines here on the east coast.

My day was spent with my parents, all four of my brothers and their families, two of my children, and "Mr.D" my boyfriend. We have spent the last two Thanksgivings with his family out in TN, but this year we took a break and opted not to travel too far away from our home here in NC. We missed seeing everyone but took an opportunity to wish them a "Happy Thanksgiving" early in the day.

After everyone had finished their visit at my parents, Jenn headed home with Ashley, and we headed back home for Ryan to spend the night with his best friend. The remainder of our evening will be spent unwinding from the day's events ... sigh ... just "Mr.D" & me. ;)

NC's FFA State Convention

This week my son's school will attend the convention at an area college where teams will compete for great prizes! First place will win a Craftsman toolbox and $500.00. This would be great as he still needs $160 for Leadership Camp and $175 for a fellowship outing in August. Since he has been chosen to be the Chaplin for the group this year, the latter will be good practice for the year. I can hardly wait to hear how this week's trip will go. For now, it's all quiet on the home front; just me and Lil' Man chillin' around the house.
